A convicted New York hitman has claimed that he once shot and robbed the legendary Tupac Shakur in a 1994 attack which almost killed the rapper, after being paid by hip-hop bigwig James Rosemond.

Norwegian folk-pop artist Ane Brun has announced details of a new single ‘Do You Remember?’, which is due for release on 25th July. The new video for the track can be viewed below. ‘Do You Remember?’ is the first single to be taken from Ane’s forthcoming album ‘It All Starts With One’, which is scheduled for release later this year. Ane Brun will be on tour in the UK in November – see below for dates and tickets.

Dublin-based indie rockers Funeral Suits have released a video to their debut single ‘Colour Fade’, which is out now. The track is the first single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming debut album, which they recently completed work on with longtime Blur producer Stephen Street and is due for release later this year. Funeral Suits will be playing several live dates and festival sets during July and August, including a performance at Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, London on Sunday 3rd July, the day that Pulp will be topping the bill. Metronomy have released a video to their new single ‘The Bay’, the latest track to be taken from their Top 10 album ‘The English Riviera’. It is the album’s third single following ‘She Wants’ and ‘The Look’, both of which were released earlier this year. Metronomy will be playing a full UK tour in September before a headlining date at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Monday 3rd October as part of the legendary venue’s Albert Sessions. US indie-pop due Tennis have announced details of a new single entitled ‘Take Me Somewhere’, which is due for release on 18th July. The single is the latest track to be taken from their debut album ‘Cape Dory’, which was released last month. The duo have also unveiled a new video to the track, which you can watch below. Tennis will be kicking off a European tour next month at London’s Cargo venue on Wednesday 6th July before heading over to Canterbury for a performance at Lounge on the Farm festival on Friday 8th July. US alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World have announced a date at Leicester 02 Academy on Tuesday 23rd August, a few days ahead of their appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals. The show will follow this month’s Jimmy Eat World tour dates in Cardiff and London – see below for dates and tickets. In September last year, the quartet released their most recent album ‘Invented’, the seventh Jimmy Eat World album to date. The band will be performing on the Main Stage at Reading Festival on Saturday 27th August before travelling up to Leeds the following day for the event’s sister festival.

Californian folk artist Sea of Bees – aka solo musician Julie Baenziger - is to release her new single ‘Gnomes’ on 15th August. The single is the latest track to be taken from her debut album ‘Songs for the Ravens’, which was released earlier this year. ‘Gnomes’ is accompanied on the single by Sea of Bees’ take on both U2’s ‘With or Without You’ and The Blue Oyster Cult classic ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’. The latter track is a collaboration with solo artist and The Cardinals guitarist Neal Casal. Sea of Bees will be making appearances at a number of summer festivals including next week’s Glastonbury, as well as Truck Festival and Port Elliot Festival in July. She has also just announced some new UK tour dates – see below for dates and tickets.

LA-based folk artist Jonathan Wilson is to release his debut solo album ‘Gentle Spirit’ on 8th August through Bella Union, the home of Fleet Foxes and Explosions in the Sky. The album features contributions from a number of other artists including Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Vetiver’s Andy Cabic and Gary Louris, formerly of The Jayhawks. The video to Wilson’s track ‘Natural Rhapsody’ can be viewed below. Jonathan Wilson will be in the UK in July for a couple of headlining shows in London – see below for dates and tickets.

Some bands just seem like they were meant to be. They turn heads wherever they go, and make an impact on anyone who hears them. They make hard work look effortless and fun, and opportunities fall into place as a result. Dream On, Dreamer exemplifies that exact idea. With a mashup of nationalities (Marcel is German, Aaron is American and the rest of the band are Australian) and backgrounds, the six members became friends as quickly as they became they became musical companions. They quickly came together as a unit and began making a name for themselves within their home country of Australia. Since then, the story is short and sweet.

Noah and the Whale have been announced as special guests for 'Introducing Glastonbury' - a first ever historic triple-cast across Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music, which kicks of the BBC's extensive coverage of the Glastonbury 2011. Broadcast on Thursday 23 June (8-10pm), live from site, the show will also offer a mass platform to BBC Introducing sourced band Dry the River, who will also perform a number of tracks.
